Muley Point, Utah

I camped at Muley Point for some days. This place is certainly – even more than Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park – the most amazing surprise of my 2022 summer travels.

The views south over the twisting, entrenched canyons of the San Juan River and to the desert beyond are amazing. It is a peaceful location with not many visitors. It has many places where it is possible to drive off road and camp right at the edge of the sheer cliffs – without any doubt one of the best (free) camping places in Utah.

I’m standing here on a huge rock. By maneuvering small pieces back and forth and left and right over the rock, which is not flat at all, I managed to end up completely level with the motorhome.
